Winter sun Algarve

The maritime climate in South Portugal guarantees mild winters and warm summers. The Algarve has an annual average of 3000 sunshine hours and 300 days without rain. In winter the average daily temperature is 16-18 degrees, which feels like spring.

Holiday villas

The holiday villas Algarve are situated in the foothills of the volcanic mountain chain Serra de Monchique, within a 20 minute drive of the popular seaside resort Portimão. Villa Foz and villa Ribeira have an own drive and are situated 300 meter apart from each other, which guarantees plenty of privacy. The large, 5 hectare, private country estate is covered with tropical vegetation; a part of it blooms all year long, thanks to the winter sun Portugal.

The villas have a hearth and underfloor- or central heating, to ensure pleasant room temperatures on fresh days. In the evening, after sunset, you can sit around the crackling fire. The sunny winter days feel like spring days and enable you to have breakfast outside regularly and to enjoy the winter sun Portugal ‘in the middle of the winter’.

Peace and space

In winter, nature in Algarve Portugal is green and the valleys are covered with wonderful, yellow wildflowers. In the wonderful, well-kept gardens around the villa, the purple bougainvillaea, yellow mimosa and white anthurium bloom all year long. The citrus trees also carry fruit in winter and from January the almond trees show the first  colourful blossom.

The holiday villas and the country estate offer space and peace, under a lovely winter sun Portugal. In winter the entire south coast is relatively quiet and you can make lovely walks and visit villages, which are less crowded than in summer.

The usually busy seaside resorts in South Portugal are also quiet in winter. Still, plenty of restaurants are open in winter enabling you to enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner. Thanks to the winter sun Portugal you can enjoy your cup of coffee or tea in December, January or February outside,  on a terrace. Really special!
