Climate in Algarve

The Algarve has a maritime climate. A maritime climate guarantees mild winters and warm summers in Algarve Portugal. With an annual average of 3000 sunshine hours and 300 days without rain, the Algarve is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. Even in winter the temperature in the Algarve is pleasant: 16-17 degrees Celsius by day. The summers are dry, warm but pleasant with average temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius by day and 18 degrees Celsius in the evening.

Algarve Portugal is mainly known for its golden yellow sandy beaches, clear blue sea, wonderful bays and cosy harbours. The south coast of Portugal offers a wide variety of beaches and seaside towns. This region offers pure nature and peaceful bays on the one hand and lively places with a dazzling nightlife on the other hand.

Lagos is a atmospheric seaside resort with an old city centre, marina and fantastic restaurants. Alvor is another popular seaside resort. This seaside town has an atmospheric centre and is situated at a kind of lagoon. Portimão, with its famous beach 'Praia da Rocha' offers a dazzling nightlife, just like Albufeira, where you will find the ‘golden beach' Praia da Oura.


The coast offers plenty of restaurants, clubs and bars for going out Algarve. The South Portuguese kitchen offers many local dishes and delicious wines. A couple of Mediterranean restaurants are situated within walking distance of the villa. At the coast you will find many restaurants specialized in fish, crustaceans and shellfish.
